i have had several cars (mostly japanese) repaired here over the last ten years. it's a family owned garage and has been there forever. the thing that keeps me coming back to them is honesty. they have diagnosed minor problems for me over the phone when they could just as easily have told me to bring the car in. they have suggested that some repairs could wait until they could be done in conjunction with other repairs to avoid doing the same work twice. i do not know if their work is any better than that performed by other garages but i have been very pleased with the way i have been treated. (they are right down the street from "My Favorite Mechanic Is a Woman" for those of you who were unhappy there.)

I was recommended to them 8 years ago by my aunt, who had been going to them for a decade. I continue to go there even though it's now a 20 minute drive. They are phenomenally honest & explain in detail what they think it might be before you even come in. I've never experienced a mechanic like this. The one problem is because they're do busy continuously, they're slow. But I resolve myself to leaving the car for awhile in light of the fact that in all other areas they're outstanding.

These guys are willing to tinker with older cars.....not just replace parts. Had an old subaru wagon('83) nobody else would touch. These guys worked with an old distributor I brought in from a junk yard($14) and got betsy running like a champ. Then there's my old '85 nissan....failed emissions inspection....explained in great detail how they scraped some deposits off inside vacuum regulator(and in which cars this was possible and in which....not)and they're not afraid to spend considerable time with you on the phone. True mechanics and champions of the portfolio challenged!

They are honest, and give very smart advice. Many times they have told me not to do repairs and to wait - unusual for a mechanic! This place is top notch - great quality, and very friendly service. These guys are especially recomendable if you have an old car. They really help you get the most out of it, paying a very reasonable price. Only problem is they are really, really busy these days. You really have to be patient and be willing to leave the car for a few days.
