In a market so replete with abject customer suspicion, it is with great pride that Isubmit such a competent, and above all, honest mechanic to this data base. Juan's name may swiftly conjure xenophobic images of an unctuous third world cretin in a hairnet, nothing could be further from the truth. Wait, actually he is a bit on the "unctuous side", but only under the finger nails. Apparently there are some places even GoJo fears to tread. A native of Chile, Juan's been working on Toyota's and Hondas for the past 15 years. Dealership trained and certified, Juan's got factory protocol to reinforce the gumption and common sense he's grounded in. I've been a personal friend of Juan's for five years now, and I've seen his customer base grow steadily. He's modest but I can detect the sense of satisfaction he gets from providing professional, affordable service to a public so leary of greasy charletains. All of this seems rosy I'm sure, but I would be lauding with impunity if I neglected to include Juan's sense of humor. The man's funny to boot! I'll close with this little piece of observation. More than one customer has brought donuts to Juan on Saturday morning oil change visits. This, for a mechanic? Remarkable.

I've been going to Juan's shop for 12 months now. He's very straightforward and reasonable in price. He's done a timing belt change, water pump change, front brakes replacement, CV joint replacement, heater hose replacement, distributor o-ring replacement, new seals, among other things. One time, he looked at my car and told me what was most likely causing the rough idle. He told me I could get the part either new or used and install it myself in about 10 minutes and save the labor! Another time I had my car towed in because it wouldn't "go into gear" (automatic). Beforehand, I had convinced myself that the tranny had gone bad and was preparing myself for the official diagnosis and resulting bad news. SURPRISE! Juan told me not to worry and that it was simply a failed CV joint (which he'd just replaced with a used one about three months earlier). He said he'd replace it again at no charge for parts nor labor! I was happy to say the least. The worst part of the whole thing was being out of a vehicle for about a day!

Juan and his Wife run a great business. They were honest with the extent of the repairs needed for me to bring my 94 Toyota Celica back to life (seriously, it gets like 32 mpg!). They didn't frown or pressure me into getting every thing fixed on it immediately, as if it couldn't wait another second. They told me what was immediate and what I could safely wait a few weeks on. I'm new to the area and really appreciate their neighborly feel. I will be going to them for all the repairs needed on my Celica. Thanks Juan!
