I'm a biased customer after going to Barrett's for 15 years or so. His shop has done great work on my Mercury, Pontiac, Chevy, Oldsmobile, Hondas, and Volkswagen. Bill and his mechanics have always offered excellent service and have treated me fairly. With his wife often in the office and with Bill being the fair-minded person he is, it's the kind of shop in which everyone gets treated with respect. Bill has often taken the time to explain things to someone as curious as I am, and he has often given me advice for taking care of issues myself to save myself some money. I'm afraid that I don't know what his official guarantees might be like because he has always either nailed the problem right away or made things right on the follow-up. I've never had to ask about any policy. I also like the fact that Bill is not part of some national chain that pressures shops to generate a quota of business. When he recommends course of action, I have never felt manipulated or pressured. He's just a decent, honest-working mechanic who knows his stuff.
