I had a local chain in Gainesville evaluate my Jeep b/c it was blowing hot air. They told me my a/c compressor was broken and had to be replaced for a cost of $1300. 3 seperate businesses (including the dealer) in Gainesville echoed the same price. I called Kermit who gave me a quote that was 60% cheaper which included a new compressor not a refurbished one. After I dropped off the car he discovered that the compressor was fine and the leak was elsewhere. The new repair was only $200! He and his staff are very friendly and he takes the time to explain to you exactly what is wrong and why. He could have easily installed a part I didnt need but he does honest work and it shows. He saved me over $1100 but you cannot put a price on having an honest mechanic (it is worth the drive from Gainesville to Ocala). I recommend with reservation kermit and his staff.

I brought my Biscayne to get a check out and found I needed a new fuel pump. Kermit took enough time to explain to me what the problem was and show me too. He also helped find out what size engine I have in the car. His prices are great for the location, ocala. His service is way above average and he was very friendly and helpful. I will take my vehicles to him as long as I live in Ocala.

I have used Kermit for several repairs on my 1989 Volvo. First, our local Volvo dealer wanted to charge $1200 to repair by brake booster. Kermit did the repair for $220. Next I thought I needed a new turbo (loss of power when accelerating). I went to Kermit and he did a smoke test on my hoses and found a hole in the hose leading to the turbo. He always thinks about the problem and goes the extra mile to find the solution which saves me a lot of money. My brakes had been squealing for a while so at the same time I had my car at the Volve dealer for an estimate on the brake booster they said my brakes were fine and were squealing because I wasn't driving much. Well, the squealing stopped and the metal on metal rubbing sound started. I called Kermit and he found I needed new brake pads and that the rotors were worn down. He fixed me right up in little over one hour and at a reasonable price. I have referred his shop to all my friends and will continue to do so.

Kermit and his small team do a super job, and are especially good about explaining and discussing the car. Highly recommended.

I recently moved into the Ocala area and my dad found Kermit's from this website for me. When I called I told them that I wanted to get a 150,000 mile service on my 1997 Volvo 850. Kermit then did the research to find out what needed to be done at that time point, but also made sure that all the Volvo parts he would need were available for pickup from the dealership before I came in. Also, as a woman I don't really know much about cars, but Kermit is the only mechanic that I have ever had that has explained AND showed me exactly what was wrong. Even though I have only been there once so far, I will definitely continue to go back.
