I highly recommend Pat at South Florida Automotive as a competent, honest and friendly mechanic shop. Pat is always friendly and knowledgeable and gets your work done and your car back on the road for a reasonable price. He will take time to tell you what the problem is (or may be) and has often fixed small problems for me gratis... or for a nominal charge. He has also recommended when used or reconditioned parts may be appropriate to save money. He has done work on both my 1992 Honda Civic and my 2003 BMW 3 series which he works on for a fraction of what the dealership charges, even if he doesn't offer flat screen TV's and espresso in his nonexistent waiting room! The last problem he fixed for me (for free) on my BMW, the dealer wanted to charge me $150 just to look at it! If you are looking for a competent, reliable, friendly and honest neighborhood mechanic, Pat at South Florida Automotive Repair is your mechanic. His shop is centrally located, but a little off the beaten path, (making for a lower overhead I would think!). When getting there for the first time, one way streets should be noted when checking out an online map.
