I first went to Jay when our '80 Pontiac Phoenix crapped out (in 1980). He fixed it. Ordinarily, that should be enough of an encomium, but I'll continue. Jay's ability (and sense of humor) is such that he's worked on our '89 GMC Suburban, '78 AMC Pacer, '69 Lotus Seven, and '58 Volkswagen Sunroof DeLuxe (and my mom's '80 MGB and my friend's '47 MGTC, etc., etc.) with equal enthusiasm...and success...I've also seen everything from Mavericks to Griffiths in the shop (but maybe that's because they both use Ford blocks...). Whenever we plan on buying a car, we first ask him if it's a make that he'll work on. You'll note from the attached list that he absolutely doesn't work on French (not ever) or Italian (not any more) cars. So, our deal on a '61 Renault Caravelle sort of fell through. Jay's a nice guy, and honest, and quick, too. Tell him 'Steve' sent you.

The Ford Dealer wanted over $1,000 to replace the fuel pump on my Explorer. Jay did it for a much more reasonable price. When I brought the car to Jay and passed along the Dealer's diagnosis of a bad fuel pump, he dutifully made some other checks first because, in his words (more or less), "I'd rather not have to replace the fuel pump today." (It's fairly involved, you have to drop the whole fuel tank out). That's an honest mechanic! And he had all the work done the same day. He works on Toyota's too, although I haven't taken my Corolla to him yet.

I live in St. Pete. and my car (according to the Gage) was running hot, as long as I had the A/C off and was traveling fast I was alright. When I got to South Miami I accessed this Web site, found Jay...etc Hw found out I had a bad ground on my Temp. gage, the car was not over heating...I am back in St. Pete and will get it fixed tomorrow. Oh! the bill was $33.55 Well worth it, as I could continue on my trip with out any worries.

Hi Guys, This to let you know that J's is close to the South Miami train station. If I need to, I can drop my car off and then take the metrorail to downtown, where i work. I can pick it up after work. It is a great convience. Thanks

Jay diagnosed and repaired an electrical problem with my MG at a fair price and in timely fashion. He is the antithesis of slick dealer service: competent, genuine, no nonsense, not intent on selling service you don't need, and a trustworthy, nice guy. His location near the metrorail train station makes it convenient to drop your car and get to work downtown. Jay and my MG will be good friends in the future..

I took my 1997 Honda Civic for a trip check (before I left on a 1200 mile trip) and they charged me half as much as I was quoted at another place, plus fixed a problem that the other guy missed, plus fixed something else that the other guy wanted $180 just to diagnose. The mechanic (named OJ.. I think) explained things very well when I asked him questions about the repairs, and now I've driven the 1200 miles and more without a problem.

Jay is an excellent mechanic and performed the necessary repairs on my wife's Isuzu Rodeo for about 1/2 of what some shops quoted me. He replaced the bad starter and the timing belt which was due for replacement under the scheduled maintenance period. Clearly, he is very experienced and honest. He works on classic cars and English makes as well as American and Japanese vehicles. Unfortunately, he does not work on German cars. However, Blitzen Benz which is right in front of his shop does and they are excellent as well. Highly reccommended!

I had a 1999 Plymouth Voyager that was under warranty. The dealership could not locate the problem with my windshield wipers. I had to take the van to Jay and have him diagnose it before the dealership would listen to me. Then I had an oil leak that the warranty company had to pay Jay to fix because the dealership's mechanics could not fix or get it right. It's nice to have honest mechanics that will listen to you, even if you are a woman. Thanks Jay for keeping my baby running in tip top shape.

J is awesome. I always feel like he's being completely honest with me. He tells me what's wrong and asks me what I want fixed. You can't ask for a better mechanic.
