This place is great! I'd recommend it to anyone having air conditioning problems. They are honest, affordable, treat you with respect, and explain what's going on with the car very well. My 2000 Dodge Stratus has had A/C problems for almost the entire eight years I've had it. These guys did much better fixing my A/C than the Dodge and Chrysler dealers down the street! They didn't insist on pulling out the dash and charging me a small fortune to replace the evaporator. They got to it through the glove compartment and found that the last place (Goodyear Gemini) had installed the wrong type of evaporator. We also had them fix our PT Cruiser's A/C and had the same experience. They charge less than I've come to expect. Now that's a nice surprise!

They put a new compressor in my old Caddy for less than half what I paid in Henderson, Nevada 3 years ago, and it was done when I checked back in three hours. The manager or owner offered me his personal vehicle, but we declined as the Lowes and Home Depot were in easy walking distance. They are as good as I've seen in forty years of driving and working on cars. If you are within fifty miles, you gotta use them.

THIEVES! Took my wife's car here in need of A/C work. Got the car back and it was blowing 38deg out of the vents. Not bad! Three days later we come back to the car after seeing a movie and the serpentine belt is making a horrific noise. I popped the hood, stuck my head in, and the tensioner came off in my hand! The bolt securing the tensioner to the engine block was sheared... and stuck in the engine! Took the car back to Modern Auto and they charged us > $500 to raise the engine and replace the bolt. I asked to see the bolt when we went back to pick up the car. The "mechanic" claimed "metal fatigue." PHOOEY! They overtightened the bolt the last time they worked on the vehicle (tensioner adjusts serpentine belt which runs to the A/C compressor). They also replaced the tensioner, without asking us, for twice the price I found for the part online. These guys are either crooks, or incompetent, or both. The serpentine belt is squealing like a stuck pig this morning. There is no way I am taking the car back to Modern Auto, which is why I am on the car talk web site, looking for another mechanic. STAY AWAY from Modern Auto!
