My 17 year old son decided to take his own trip to Pensecola, FL where his transmission promptly went out as soon as he crossed into the city limits. Hirst Transmission towed his car for free and explained the needed repairs. Rather than installing an already rebuilt transmission, Steve Hirst cracked open the transmission, repaired exactly what needed repaired, and put it back into my son's '95 Buick Riviera w/super charger. The total cost was $2200.00, similar to the replacement of a transmission in another car at a local transmission shop. He did the work in 3 DAYS! and had my son on his way back home, having to stay just 1 day longer than he had intended. He has a calibrated diagnostic machine and shared with us 4 other sensors indicating the car needed some other attention, but was in areas he doesn't do as a transmission specialist. He even threw in a switch inside the transmission since our son was so young. We are grateful that our young son so far away from home found a mechanic/transmission specialist who is honest and who obviously cares about his customers.
