Reviewers Comments:
Dave is GREAT! He's honest. His prices are really good. I trust him with my car. I'd even trust him with my dog if he knew anything about veternary medicine. I can call him for advice over the phone. He's talked me through the procedure for removing a very, very stuck flat tire. He's done "little" jobs without even charging. He's one in a million. He has his own little shop and does everything. A dying breed. When Dave eventually retires, many years from now I hope, I'm going to sell my car and buy a horse.

Dave was, in a former life, an engineer until he decided
hands-on work was far more rewarding. He is patient to a
fault and will explain anything about cars in endless
detail until you understand, even if your knowledge of
cars is that they have wheels and generally should move.
He is honest and funny (and has great politics). The only
down side is that he is a "solo practitioner" and can't
keep up with the business he has. So he is slow. But he
can fix anything grand and small and willingly does so. So
all those tiny things that cause problems can get fixed.
yes fixed, not replaced. We have had him repair our cars
for 10-15 years now. we would nominate him for "car hero
of the millenium/century/year". We trust him with our
cars, kids, whatever. and also with the planet.

I completely agree with the other comment listed. He truly is one of a kind. Honest as they come. Plays the sax too.

There's only one mechanic, the shop has a herd of dead
Ramblers outside, and he won't be able to schedule you for
two weeks. But it's worth it. He's very good, and the
prices are reasonable. He says the Car Guys are good, but
the guy who writes a car column for the local paper isn't.

Since Dave works solo, he can't always fix my troubles as
fast as I need them fixed. He is very good at taking a
few minutes to diagnose and estimate cost so I can take my
sick car elsewhere armed with good information. He
thoroughly explains what he has done or is doing, or
cannot do, so you end up feeling respected and valued as a
customer.

Really good (the owner was a mechanical engineer until the
company he worked for went down the tubes). Very helpful.
Very honest. Very reasonable (and if his estimate is too
much, he'll suggest other options). Maybe a little slow
(it's a one-man shop, and sometimes there's a government
hearing or demonstration he has to be at). But well worth
the wait.

DAVE KNOWS MORE ABOUT CARS THAN ANYONE I KNOW...AND HE IS
HONEST, KIND AND NOT SHORT ON WORDS...HE EXPLAINS ABOUT THE
PROBLEMS VERY GOOD. AND HE CAN FIX THEM. HE CAN GET VERY
BUSY WORKING ON CARS TOO...........AND THE PRICE IS RIGHT.

Dave is, just as everyone else has said, a one-in-a-million
person AND a fabulous mechanic. He keeps meticulous
records, has an encyclopedic knowledge of things
mechanical,is a first-rate diagnostician, and makes me feel
safe in my 10+ year-old Toyota. He's simply terrific.
