Reviewers Comments:I submitted a review of this wonderful shop after they rescued my Jetta from myself: I'd added drain cleaner instead of oil. (not a whole lot...) Advanced charged me for the extra quarts of oil for a double flush, and that's it. They were also very subtle about any smirking. In my original review, I placed a hypen between Audi and Volkswagen, and I want to be sure that everyone who needs this shop can find it. Guess what, Advanced came through for me again. This time it was not my own idiocy. I had started smelling gear oil as I finished up a 100 mile round trip. In the morning there was a puddle of it near the front passenger wheel. Since I had paid the car off two days earlier, I KNEW this was the end of the world. Well, I must have driven through someone ELSE'S large spill of something that my car doesn't even use. Advanced brought me right in, put the on the rack, checked all her fluids, solvented off the icky stuff, set my mind at rest and charged me nothing for the visit. I thought I was in a friendly small town, not San Francisco. Any female who has trouble telling a nut from a bolt is safe at this shop. --reviewer #85628, 2006 After experiences at 2 other shops that worked on my 99 Audi A4, I am thrilled to find Advanced Audi VW. Chief mechanic Aaron has loads of experience and explains what's wrong clearly -- plus he quickly pieces together what the other mechanics who didn't know what they were doing, were actually doing wrong. I got a clear idea of what parts in my high-mileage wagon will need attending in the near future. The shop's in a heavy industrial area, but Randy who is business manager will get you where you need to go by van. Audi/VW isn't cheap to work on, but I will not take my Audi anyplace else to get fixed, now that I have found these guys. --reviewer #60256, 2004 The head mechanic, Aaron Howe, is excellent. I have a 1987 Audi 4000 CS Quattro, with plenty of quirks, and he has vastly improved the car's performance. He will readily answer questions on the phone, and will show the customer exactly what he's doing. And, he is extremely honest and straightforward. I would highly recommend him for any/all Audi/VW owners in the Bay Area. --reviewer #57816, 2004 Advanced Audi VW is the best shop experience I've had since ownoing my A4 wagon! Aaron Howe owner/head mechanic always takes the time to explain all repairs and necessary work that has been or needs to be done. Randy Hoffman owner/business manager is friendly, helpful and will shuttle to and from the shop which is a service the dealerships in San Francisco don't even offer. I can't recommend this shop highly enough! --reviewer #64738, 2005 These guys were AWESOME. I had several bad experiences at a very well known dealer shop in San Francisco who charged exorbitantly and NEVER fixed any of the problems. These guys fixed the problem first time, are extremely courteous, you know EXACTLY who is working on your card and they charged 10% of the price of the other guys! 10/10 - no question! --reviewer #65193, 2005 Highly recommended. Found them based on recommendations here, and they were very knowledgable about Audis, saved me quite a bit of money by telling me what I needed versus what the service schedule called for, and explained everything clearly and honestly. --reviewer #66715, 2005 Half the price of dealer repair. They diagnosed a minor problem that the local dealer shop said was a major one. Conscientious, concerned about their customers and proud of their work. I highly recommend them for any Audi or VW repair/service. --reviewer #79877, 2006 Aaron and Randy are great. It's a kid-friendly, dog-friendly, woman-friendly shop. They explain things simply, without condescension. They understand that one of the main reasons I choose them over a dealership is that they are so much less expensive (as much as half what the dealer would charge, in some cases)--so they actually told me when something I needed was covered by the warranty; I had that thing fixed at the dealership. They have a courtesy van, but I like that they are also close to the 3rd street Muni streetcar. If you want to hang out while they do a quick repair, they have free wifi, a clean restroom and some cool magazines. They will also tell you where you can get a good coffee or cheap lunch in Dogpatch. I found them through this site, and I am very grateful. --reviewer #119383, 2008 The sometimes-long waits to get your car seen by these guys is worth it. Very honest and very amenable owners and mechanics - they come in early and stay late, almost like they love doing this or something.. Early in my experiences with them, Advanced replaced the tie rods in our '99 Passat, and only 20 miles later the car wouldn't move on the 101 near the airport (mind you this was a 1500$ job) So after towing the car back to them, they saw to correcting the fix right away. They pushed aside other jobs, paid for the tow truck, and basically made things right (and for free). I'll always use Advanced for VW work. --reviewer #132416, 2009 You can fill out the survey or just add a quick comment about this shop. |
