Reviewers Comments:

For nearly 3 years I worked in sales at a nearby dealership. Many, many of my customers SWORE by Independent Volvo. And they have Saturday hours.

I've had to sets of ancient volvo worked on by Paul and Tony. Both do a great job of fixing the problem at a reasonable rate. They're the first pair of honest mechanics I've met in Bakersfield!

drove by one day (before they ever did work on my car) and stopped by because oil was spurting out of the oil filler cap (1984 Volvo). Vartak diagnised a faulty rubber seal on the cap and replaced it without charge. They had my business from then on, until I gave tha car away to charity

great guys. prices are reasonable considering volvo parts are expensive. have recommended friends in pasadena buy volvos just because he is the best mechanic i know. they recently opened a mercedes shop next door and i'm sure it will be great too.

great place to take your Volvo. They also have a Mercedes shop now. My wife loves them because they always tell her what the problem is without assuming she's a idiot. Which is a good thing becuase she knows more about cars than most men. Anyway a good shop that you can trust. what more do you want?

This place is excellent; great facility, plenty of mechanics and very personal customer service. For a first time Volvo owner I couldn't be more pleased. They explain in full what they need to do (no pressure in fixing things other than the problem that got you there), give you accurate estimates, show the finished work to you and take you for a spin, just to make sure all is well. Friendly service, plus, not as much money as I thought it might be.

These guys are great. They work as a team and are busy but never too busy to not acknowledge you and address your repair issue. They know Volvos and have been a great service to me and my family for over 12 years.

1999 Volvo S70- At the dealer, you are required to have a repair specialist (think counselor). The counselor doesn't return your calls in a timely fashion. The cost for the 90,000 mile check up is over $650, and that is the sale price! Independent Volvo was much less expensive. Also, they were very friendly. It appears that they did a good job with my mother's car. The only complaint is that they forgot to press a reset switch so when my mom took the car home, she noticed that the check engine light would take about five minutes to turn off. She took it back and Vartkes (the owner) fixed it himself in less than a minute. I would recommend this shop.

Absolute excellent repair place for Volvos and Mercedes. Vartkes and the boys have worked on my Volvo for over ten years, and they always do first-rate work at a fair price. I've never had a problem of any kind. And they are friendly, attentive, listen to my concerns, give me good advice, and always have the work done on time. What more would you want?

I took my Volvo to Independent Volvo of Bakersfield, the guys were nice and treated me with respect, the price for my tune up was half of what the dealer cost! I wish they worked on Mini Coopers so I could take my other car to them.
