I was told that when I moved to a new place that that three of the top services I needed to find were a doctor, a dentist, and a car mechanic. Well, I've lived in Hartford for almost three and a half years now without a doctor or dentist, but I do have a fantastic mechanic. John Giarenakis is one of the most honest, hard-working, and genuinely caring humans I know. As you know it's hard to find people with these characteristics, nevermind mechanics- -but I struck gold with John. John puts the welfare and the safety of his customers first. He has never tried to sell me anything I didn't need immediately. And on services that I may need, he has a good sense of how long I can go before I have to deal with a particular problem, so I don't have to put out an inordinate amount of money at any one time. He has always encouraged me to go out and get other opinions and better prices on parts and labor, but in the end John always provides the best service and goes above and beyond the call of duty. John seeks out the best deals possible for his customers and gets the job done right the first time. And after the repairs, he takes the time to explain everything done, even getting out books and diagrams to describe what was wrong, what was done to the car, and in general how the whole system operates. He does this so that his customers gain a better understanding of how their automobiles operate and therefore can bring their cars in for servicing in the future without being completely held hostage to the "expertise" of the mechanic. He wants his customers to be knowledgeable about their cars and the only thing that may stop him from discussing these issues with his customers is their lack of interest or time to sit an learn. Although I am now automobile expert, I do feel that under John's tutelage, I have a far greater understanding about the ways in which my car operates. So John is far more than a mechanic, he is a good neighbor, a teacher, and a sort of guardian angel. He is there to help you regardless of your situation, i.e., from regular oil changes to emergency stuck in the middle of nowhere car situations. I have recommended him to everyone I know and have not yet received a complaint. So if you live in the Greater Hartford area and are looking for a good, honest, friendly, and caring mechanic give John Giarenakis a call at Bordonaro Service Center.

Have been a customer for 16 years (100+ visits). Cars have included VW, Chrysler and Ford products. Have recommended this shop to many friends who have been very pleased with the service. The honesty and professionalism of the owner is truly unique, i.e., customers(including me) have "complained" because he UNDERcharged them!!!
