A year ago I took a 1984 Olds Firenza (@ 120,000 miles ) for transmission work. After Paul took the car for a ride he said the engine was a piece of crap.(1.8 over head cam) and it was not worth spending any money on the transmission. I jazzed it up because Paul does not say things that way. As a result I gave the car to a charity for a tax deduction. Not a complete loss!!!!

I have a classic big 87 Olds 2-door convertible that usually looks fine, and is a low-maintenance, good car. When my transmission started to stutter and slip getting from 2nd to 3rd, I thought after 14+ years I'd have to leave it in a ditch rather than throw in a $2,000 transmission and whatever else might bring it back fully to mint. Assuming its fate was sealed, I drove it another 10,000 miles shifting manually. Jerry's had worked on it 70,000 miles -- and eight years -- ago. Their work held up better than GM's from the factory. This time Brian took it for a drive, fiddled under the hood and made a few adjustments, and said an hour's worth of appointment would fix it. Not only was he right, it cost $100, not $1,000. Go there and say Whatzizname with the white olds convertible sends his respect and best wishes.

When my car broke down, they agreed to have it towed to their shop, and I was advised within two days that this old car was not worth repairing. They very patiently kept my car until I could arrange to 'clean it out' and have it towed away. Others I spoke with told me they were exremely honest and dependable. If I have any transmission problems with the used car I recently purchased, this is definitely where I would have the work done.
