European suto works on Volvos - only - and they DO know Volvos! There is a sign on the wall "No Sabbs. No Exceptions". I have seen an occasional Mercedies in the shop, but those customers also have Volvos. This crew is amazing and might well give auto mechanics a bad name in some circles. There are 5 - 6 full time mechanics and most have been with this same independent shop for over a decade. Some ride bikes wo work and at least for a while a few were taking their mountain bikes out for spins during lunch hour. And the radio in the shop plays NPR classical music! Their work is a bit pricy (they are working on Volvos, after all), but extremely well done and they stand behind their repairs ABSOLUTELY. I cannot recommend EA too strongly!!

I have been dealing with these guys a long time. My first experience was about 20 years ago when Henry (yes, Henry) was repairing cars out of his home garage (I had an Audi Fox at the time). Have bought two used Volvos from them since: A 1990 740 Turbo and a 1997 960. The sell quality used Volvos and stand by them. Both cars had a couple of small problems which they took care of immediately. When they say the car is warranteed for 6 months/6000 miles they are not kidding- they've even replaced lightbulbs for me under warrantee. As far as repairs are concerned, they'll do what they can to save you a buck. The vent control on my 740 Turbo went South, (about a $350 item), and Kelly rebuilt it from parts on a junker out back for $100. This is typical of my experience with these guys. They KNOW Volvos. I've never seen them refer to a service manual- if you walk in and say the car's doing "la-dee-da", most of the time they'll say- "Oh, yea, that's the vergasser." -And they're invariably right. Enough said? If you have a Volvo, (Saabs need not apply), there's nowhere elso to go.

If I didn't already own two volvos, I would go out and buy one just to have these guys be my mechanics. They're all competent, savy, extraordinarily honest, and very fair. Dave, JB, and Jon are not only wonderful mechanics, they teach you about cars and their idiosyncracies. There can't be better mechanics...anywhere!!
