In May of 2003, my 1994 Taurus had to have a transmission rebuild. Brought it to local guy who did a good job at reasonable price. In August of 2003, as my wife and I were embarking on our 2week vacation, I noticed smoke and stuff in my rearview mirror. I immediately pulled over and discovered red fluid flowing profusely from my car! Blown seal(Or something of the nature)!!Using my handy dandy cellphone(since I was already pulled over)I immediately called the transmission guy only to get an answering machine message stating that they, too, had left for vacation!!!The state police eventually showed up, and recommended Terry's Transmission(since it was the only one within 20 miles). As the tow truck pulls into Terry's with my car hooked up, I can imagine the repair shop owner with dollar signs in his eyes. He takes it for a test drive (after refilling fluid) and says"Yup, gotta put it on the lift to check it out." He can see all of our stuff packed in the back of the wagon and knows we're going away. Amazingly, he takes down the car already on the lift and puts mine up. After having ascertained that we already had work done and by whom, he starts calling all over the country to find out if our original guy was a member of the same Transmission Rebuilder's Assoc. Tells me the car won't be ready untill next day. We call home, get a ride, and sweat out the next 18hrs. When the phone call from Terry arrives, we take off to his shop expecting the worse...all our vacation money gone to fix the damn car, AGAIN! No money--no vacation! Terry tells us exactly what had to be done, why, and how. Then he slides the bill across the counter...over $1200.00!!!There goes our vacation, my wife sobs. "What are we supposed to do now" we ask???Amazingly, astoundingly he looks me straight in the eye and says"I'll tell you what you are going to do, you are going on vacation, don't worry about it untill you get back!!!!!!" Holy Cow! Of course he took some credit card info to secure things, and off we went.. Upon our return, we find that Terry had finally gotten in touch with the original rebuilder, worked out some sort of deal with him and told me"NO CHARGE!"He not only fixed my problem but restored my faith in the integrity that still exists in this world. It rare indeed to meet a man of Terry's caliber. God Bless you Terry.

When the transmission on my 2000 Nissan Altima (with 150k miles) started whining, I brought it to a local shop that wanted to put a refurbished transmission in it for $2,000. No way! I took it to Terry, and he rebuilt the transmission, replacing bearings and seals. In addition, he replaced a CV joint and put a new clutch in it for about $1,200! 58,000 miles later, it's still going great. In addition, he and his employees all treated me with respect, explained everything like I'm reasonably intelligent--I'm a young skinny blond woman and mechanics' pupils usually turn into dollar signs when they see me coming. I appreciate being treated honestly. I would go back in a heartbeat! Thanks, Terry!
