Rusting Car

I have a problem that perhaps you can help with, with your vast knowledge of things marital and automotive. My husband took our car into the body shop to have them work on some rust in the wheel well of my car. I asked him how he ever happened to notice the rust there. He gave a very evasive reply so I suspect he was up to no good when he discovered it.

My question to you: Should I let him pay for it all, or ask my boyfriend to share the costs?
