Greg and the guys at Honda Specialties are the best for Honda and Acura care. Don't bother taking your Toyota or Subaru there. They won't touch it. But, if you have a Honda you'd like to show some love, this is the ONLY place in north Seattle to take it. They've worked on my Honda for 15 years now, everything from clutch replacements to scheduled service. Sometimes I think Greg cares more about my car than I do.

In my experience, Honda Specialties charges very reasonable prices and are honest about identifying only the work and problems that need to be done to your vehicle. They also use genuine Honda parts and have a decent turnaround on repairs.

When I had trouble with my 1990 civic, the first mechanic told me I need several repairs that would cost over $800. I decided instead to get a second opinion at Honda Specialties. It turns out that only one $120 repair was necessary. They know their stuff and their rates are hard to beat! My car is now running perfectly and I will be going back in the future.

Our family has had several cars worked on by Eric, one of the mechanics at Honda Specialties. He is a great mechanic with very strong diagnostic skills. He figures out problems well, fixes them quickly, and the shop charges reasonable prices. We've been very happy with their work and glad to have a chance to recommend them!

I'd had my brake lights "fixed" several times, but Greg fixed them quickly, reliably, and they've worked ever since (1 year and counting). Every encounter I've had has been great.

The turn around time for a repair is excellent. They did an excellent job of diagnosing the problem and fixing it. If you search the internet for 1998 CRVs with a check engine light and rough idle, you will read numerous horror stories of burned valves and defective fuel injectors that required expensive repairs. When my CRV exhibited those problems, I was concerned. The mechanics at Honda Specialties diagnosed a bad spark plug and had my CRV running in no time. It makes me wonder how many people with CRVs with similar symptoms were sold an expensive repair when the problem was much more simple. I appreciate the professionalism of the people at Honda Specialties.

As the old adage goes, with "Good, Cheap, and Fast," you can't have all three. Honda Specialties is a competent shop--and they work hard to get things right. They'll find reconditioned parts (if you want), and will never charge for unnecessary work. But they don't provide instant service. Be prepared to have your car in the shop for a few days. It'll be worth it, though.
