I know you already carry a listing for this shop, but I would like to second the notion that this is a good, honest mechanic. I have brought my automobiles to this mechanic for almost twenty years (Cadillac's, Chevys, toyota's) and have always found them honest and reasonable. A good call!

Everyone in my family Takes their car to George. We will drive for miles to go to him. Family legend goes that some local paper was doing an undercover investigation of local garages. They sent a woman to a number of local places with some kind of problem that was very easy to fix (like a screw that was loose), but made a horrible noise. Goeorge was the ONLY one to fix it and send the woman on her way at no charge. This is the wat George and all his employees approach their work every day. They are totally overworked, because everyone in town knows there is no other place to bring yor car.

George is a great mechanic. He took wonderful care of my dear departed red mitsubishi (a gift from my grandparents, of their "old" car). Sadly, it has reached a point where the repairs (from a fender-bender with a pickup) are more expensive than makes sense on an '89. So I am looking for a "new" used car. Few used car dealers will agree to let an independent mechanic inspect one of their cars prior to sale. When I found one, I thought "they MUST be honest, and confident in the quality of their cars". Either they didn't believe my mechanic would have a single functioning neuron, or they were completely stupid themselves, because within 10 minutes of looking at the car, George had someone call me at work to say, "Stay far, far away!". Turns out that the car needed what George estimated at about $2000 worth of work. NOT the bargain that it had seemed! Thanks to George I was saved from buying a lemon! (and he's going to look at ANY car I consider buying it, before I put a cent into it.) It was absolutely worth waiting until he had the time to look at it. (Scheduling appointments can be a bit tricky with how busy he often is.)

All my extended family and a load of friends use the garage for repairs. My mom and her friends use them. You can trust these guys. The shop is not fancy. It's in the warehouse area on the Woburn/Winchester line. They treat my wife and my mom better than they treat me or my male friends. Why not?

Really nice, family-owned atmosphere. Two generations working there. They always pick up and drop off to nearby locations. My entire office goes there. I like these guys!

This is my third trip to a CarTalk recommended mechanic and I think that I finally found a fit. I've got a 97 VW Cabrio Convertible that I love. Unfortunately it hasn't been running well in awhile, thus the three trips to mechanics. As they say, the third time is the charm. This time it runs well again! Explaining what needed to be done and why before they started and running my vehicle to the inspection station for me,who needs more than that! I am thrilled to have found a mechanic that I not only feel comfortable with but one that delivers great service. Have already recommended them to friends and will continue to do so.

My family and neighbors have been using this garage for years with nothing but the best experiences. Competent, accommodating and very nice people. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

My family has been going to George's Holton St Garage near the Woburn - Winchester line for years. George has fixed numerous problems, including a major transmission problem, that was almost beyond repair. Thanks to George, we were able to keep the car another 3 years or so before it finally died, even with a previous transmission problem. Now we have 3 new vehicles, 2 Mercury Montegos and one Ford Focus, and he keeps our vehicles running smoothly. George is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, and he is pleasant even when he is extremely busy or on a day when the weather isn't so nice. He always has a smile on his face. He gets the job done right the first time at a reasonable rate. While not right next to public transit, the garage is about 10 minute walk from downtown Winchester, train station, and a 10-15 min walk from the 134 bus route to North Woburn from Wellington Station. I would recommend George to anyone who needs car repair work or van repair.
