On two occasions I have taken vehicles to this shop. The second time because a dealer said a repair was necessary. The mechanic looked at the problem I described, said that nothing was wrong and sent me on my way at no charge. My daughter as well as several friends have had similar experiences.

This is a great shop! I never worry when I have to take a vehicle to them.

This is a very good shop, clean, safe, honest, and they were thrilled when I told them that I found them via the car talk website! I am going back for brakes, shocks, etc.

They demonstrated the CVJ driveaxle problem to my wife as if she were a peer, in language she relayed to me without my needing to check it, leaving no room for marital discord! And came in under estimate price. Will add a supplement if problems develop later, of course.

Car was making a terrible clunking noise, obviously related somehow to steering/suspension/alignment. Midas diagnosed the problem as worn out inner tie rods and said the entire rack and pinion needed to be replaced, but then sent me to the dealer, since Midas said they couldn't get the part. I told the dealer what Midas said the car needed, and the dealer quoted me a price ($690). I felt like I could get a better price, so called around and ended up at Holland, who gave me the lowest quote ($570) in town. After Carlos looked at the vehicle, however, he gave me a call -- reporting that the problem was not related to the rack, and was instead the sway bar bushing. He was right -- he replaced the bushing, and the noise is gone now. And what did he charge me? $55. That's not a typo. $55! I'll definitely take cars back to Holland in the future!

I found Carlos on this site and went to him for all six years I lived in Stockton. He is awesome. I have a lot of good stories, some of the best are when he called me on the weekend because I'd left a message asking about my transmission. He cleaned a dead animal off the bottom of my friend's car without charging her. When I told him I was moving he gave me tips on how to talk to the next mechanic I go to so they think I know what I'm talking about. He also told me to call him if I'm not sure the new mechanic is being honest! He is always quick and thorough, and often he won't charge you for little things like topping the fluids or small fixes. His wife, who works the front desk, is really nice too. If I wasn't moving I would always use them.
