Highway to Hell: Horror Stories from the Great American Roadtrip

Is there anything more genuinely American than hitting the open road in an overloaded, aging jalopy...and then spending part of the vacation broken down by the side of that road with your thumb out?

Not too very long ago, we asked for your best road trip horror stories. And boy, did we get them! Stories of cars breaking in half, dogs on fire, hysterical mass-familial roadsickness -- even the unintended demolition of a Dairy Queen.
