Dear Car Talk Friends,

It's hard to explain what it's like to see nearly 4,000 people cruising 200 miles on their bikes in the 90 degree heat... all in the name of fighting cancer.

On August 4th, we met Dr. Sam midway on his journey. Henry wanted to watch his doc ride his bike and give him a hug. Standing in a sea of thousands of people so happily giving of themselves to this cause — you only had to take one look at Henry or some of the other kids there to know every dollar raised is precious.

And now it's time to give yourselves a well deserved pat on the back. Thanks to the many of you who so generously donated to Dr. Sam's fundraising bike ride, he has raised over $30,000! As a whole, the Pan Mass Challenge expects to raise $27 million dollars. All of the money will go directly to fighting cancer. Thank you!

For those of you who still want to toss a few bucks Sam's way, there's still time. Just check out his website to make a donation.
