Hi Guys,
This is in response to a caller on the 2/15/97 show who wanted to meet women
in traffic. I have a sister, Rebecca, who met her husband, Jeff, in
traffic. I think it takes a special type of person to make this type
of "meeting" work. In my sister's case no spoken words passed between
them on the freeway. Jeff caught Rebecca's eye. She smiled her
beautiful smile. He held up his ring finger to indicate he wanted to
know if she was married. She shook her head in the negative and
offered the question back to him in the same manner. He shook his
head in the negative and held up his car phone to ask whether he could
call her. She didn't have a car phone but proceeded to hold up
fingers indicating her home number.
Now, let me be clear, they are
still driving down the freeway (in southern California, no less) during
this entire exchange! One has to master freeway driving skills before
attempting this type of highway romance. When Rebecca got home, she
had a message from Jeff on her answering machine. The rest is
history--they were married in a beautiful ceremony less than a year
later. At the rehearsal dinner all the guests wore T-shirts with a
BMW steering wheel (the car Rebecca was driving) on the front with
Rebecca's home phone number across the wheel. "Dial-a-Bride" was
written at the top of the shirt and "Rebecca and Jeff" was written on
the bottom along with their anniversary date. They are great people,
but I don't think this would work for everyone.
Your show is great. I love your infectious laughs!
Sincerely,
The single sister,
Amy
