Here are the poll results for the Talking and Driving question:

"Should it be legal to talk on a phone while driving?"

We got over 4,000 responses to this question with an overall opinion of:

Yes = 39%
No = 61%

DID GENDER MATTER?
More males than females thought it was OK; where 41% of males said yes, only 32% of females agreed.

DID AGE MATTER?
Age made a big difference. It was almost your classic regression line: as age increased, the percent saying yes continued to drop. The high was 49% of people under 20 saying yes down to a low of a mere 28% of people over 65 saying yes.

WHAT ABOUT GEOGRAPHY?
There was almost no difference by geography. Given my scant knowledge of the geography of these here United States, I broke the answers into North, South, East and West. Almost all the same -- 39% yes and 61% no. Get this: in Montana, home of the whackos, a whopping 81% said...

...what's your guess? That was mine too. And it was wrong! They said NO!!! I guess they're trying to change their image.

THE LAST WORD
Here's a question for us all. If most of us think it shouldn't be legal, why is it legal?
