Dear Tom and Ray:

I am looking for a print of a wiring diagram for a 1956 Mercury Monterey. I am mostly interested in the gas- and oil-gauge section. -- Michel

Tom: Do you want a framed print? And does it have to be original and signed [redcar.gif] by the artist?

Ray: Your best bet, Michel, is to pick up a copy of Hemmings Motor News (published in Bennington, Vt.). All kinds of wackos with old cars run ads for everything under the sun in there.

Tom: And if you don't see an ad for a '56 Monterey shop manual, you can always run an ad and ask for one. I'm sure some former Monterey owner has been saving one in his basement for years ... just hoping he'd be able to gouge some desperate guy like you someday. Good luck, Michel.

Don't get stuck with a lemon. Be an informed shopper. Read Tom and Ray's guide "How to Buy a Great Used Car: Secrets Only Your Mechanic Knows." To order, send (check or money order) to Ruin, P.O. Box 536475, Orlando, FL 32853-6475. You can also order online.
