February 1990
Dear Tom and Ray:Last February, I bought a 1970 Ford Galaxy 500 with an 8 cylinder engine and three-speed manual transmission. I have recently been going through quite a bit of oil. I went to check the water one day and found out where my oil was going. What could cause this to happen? Could I have a cracked head?
Junior
TOM: You had a cracked head last February when you bought this thing, Junior. Now you probably have a cracked block to go with it.
RAY: If this car is in reasonably good shape, go find another engine at a local junkyard and have it put in. If it's got rust up to the windows, start looking at the used car ads again.
