A Case of Automotive Karma
I heard you talking about selling a car recently, and it reminded me of a friend of mine who owned a "second-hand" Austin Mini back in the early 1980s.The car was getting pretty old, and had really high mileage. Try as he might, he got no offers for the car. So, in an act of desperation, he decided to clock the vehicle. In other words, he decided to turn back the mechanical odometer to lower the mileage so he could unload it.
Fishing around behind the dashboard he managed to free the cable from the odometer. He was about to start winding back the numbers when he felt a piece of paper that had been carefully wrapped around the end of the cable. He unrolls the paper, and sees on it the words, “Oh no, not again!"
