Who could possibly conceive of improving upon Charles Dickens' classic, A Christmas Carol?

Not us, of course. But, we are very capable of dreaming up a demented version of our very own. Toss in our NPR pals Robert Siegel, Ira Glass, Susan Stamberg, Scott Simon and Carl Kassell and the result is our somewhat disturbing, not-too-lousy Car Talk Carol.

In fact, it's kind of funny.

Just what happens to Tiny Ira, the Scroogiozzi Brothers, Crusty the Mechanic and the Spirit of Public Radio, past and present? You'll have to tune in for yourself, to find out.

You can listen right here - while you bake that fruitcake you'd planned on mailing to us.

(You were planning on sending us a fruit cake, weren't you?)

Yours in undermining the holiday classics,
