The auto industry is riding high on 4X4 sales, and the Detroit show makes clear that--as long as the cheap gas holds out--it's not messing with the formula.

Tesla Falls Short of 2016 Delivery Goals

Tesla delivered 22,200 cars in the last quarter of 2016. That’s a lot of luxury electric vehicles, but it isn’t enough to meet Tesla’s goals for the year. The company forecast deliveries of between 80,000 and 90,000 cars this year, but only managed 76,230.
