Crowd Pleaser: The $6,800, 84-mpg Elio is Getting Closer

I test drove the latest version of the three-wheeled, two-seat Elio in Manhattan, and was mobbed by people who wanted to know what it was and when they could get one. Late next year, they're saying, if all goes well.

The Volkswagen Golf, neé Rabbit, turns the big 4-0 in the United States and VW is marking the occasion with the launch of a series of Golfs manufactured in its new Mexican plant. Some are roomier, somer are cheaper...and some are even electric.
