#1008: People Like to Listen to Idiots

Original Air Date: 02.20.2010

   Best Moment

Description:
Is there any group more qualified to critique Car Talk than 8th graders, assuming kindergartners aren't available? This week, we kick off the show with a few astute comments from kids. Then it's off to Ohio where Kellie's Accord is "bogging out" on the highway, and her dad's wallet is emptying out trying to fix the problem. Meanwhile, in Princeton, New Jersey, Professor Robert is trying to decide whether to open his wallet for a new timing belt, or risk a quick stop in the left lane of the New Jersey Turnpike. Also, on Stump the Chumps, Nariv confronts his neighbor and doesn't get a black eye. And, Ray confesses to an embarrassing incident at the garage, which half of Our Fair City already knew about. All this and lots more on this week's encore edition of Car Talk.

Defense of the Lab Rats

by JeanRich

I love the show and enjoyed this one, particularly the Nuclear Physicist and the woman who plans to retire to the Panamanian jungle. HOWEVER, all the answers to last week's puzzler were wrong. Morally wrong. Why should a small innocent animal suffer a painful death just to save a case of wine?

Favorite Moment: When Tommy said, "Wait a minute! That's not really fair to the rat, is it?"

The show started out great for me as you mentioned my son and classmates in the piece from Northfield, MN. He will remain nameless, well, maybe not, Seth and his friends love your show and their teacher, Mrs. Engstrom.
