I have been dealing with auto repairs and repairmen for half a century and Jerry Hartman at Hartman Automotive is the best!!! He is one of the most honest men I know and certainly the most honest auto repair/mechanic I've met or ever heard of. This is by far the most ethical auto repair shop I know of. I've been doing business here for 5-7 years ( I don't remember). My ex-wife goes there, my girlfriend, ex-girlfriends, my daughter, my neighbors, employees, friends----I am not afraid of refering anyone to Jerry Hartman. He is amazingly good, fair, and honest.

I am a mechanical engineer who has worked on my own cars for over 30 years. I repaired sheared off bolts on the motor mount on my 2000 Ford Focus about 3 years ago. They sheared again, and I didn't want to deal with it myself. I found Hartman Automotive here, and my initial conversation with Jerry convinced me that he was a professional. I originally asked him to drill out the broken bolts. He was fine with that and quoted the parts and labor. When his very competent mechanic assessed the situation, it turned out that it was a better fix and a little less expensive to replace the bracket. Ford also apparently realized there was a problem and had an updated mount. They would have done the quick fix, but gave me the cost and option to do the right fix. Everything was itemized and he charged by the tenth of an hour. Parts=$201.82 Labor=$173.40 Total=$375.22. I've done the job, and less competently. That's a bargain. (Short story/Long) The car is getting to 100,000 miles, and I've wanted to do maintenance to squeeze a few more years out of the car, so I had Jerry do the timing belt, idler and tension pulleys, valve cover gasket, water pump, cam shaft and crank shaft seals. Parts=$435.01 Labor=$571.20. I spent 2 weekend days not long ago helping a friend do pretty much all of that. It cost about half that, and I know we didn't do as good of a job. Jerry also gave me an itemized cost list of 5 other non-urgent repairs that I would like to have done in the future. Car repair isn't cheap. The best you can do is make sure you get value for your money. You'll get it here.

Jerry Hartmann has serviced my automobiles, those of my two daughter, and my wife as long as twenty-six years. He is utterly honest and fair in his dealings with both genders. He takes the time to explain the problem and the alternative when this is applicable. Even with a new-car warranty, I go to this mechanic for diagnosis first. I have tried other mechanics and dealers, but I always have come back, and now I simply do not go elsewhere unless Jerry Hartmann says he cannot do the work.

I am a single female, new to CO, and needed to find a good, honest, reliable mechanic. I got the referral for Jerry off this site. I was very impressed...he was HONEST, FAIR, and took the time to explain EVERYTHING to me in DETAIL. He allows you to bring your own parts, treats females with equal respect, and seemed to have long-standing good relationships with his customers. I will go back!

I found this mechanic through the Car Talk website. I needed someone to check out a car that I was thinking of purchasing from a private seller. Hartman Automotive was helpful, honest, and fast - if I lived closer, (the shop was close to the seller), this would be my mechanic of choice. The seller herself had wonderful things to say about their in-store customer service, just from her experience of bringing the car in for the inspection. They were very helpful for me over the phone, both faxing and mailing the inspection report and giving an honest opinion of whether or not to purchase the vehicle. I am now the proud owner of my 1997 Honda Civic and am very happy I found Hartman Automotive on this site.
