The owners of Volks Cafe understand that customer satisfaction is the key to the success of their business. It seems to work for them since most of their new customers come through word-of-mouth. If they aren't sure what's wrong with your car they explain the possibilities before they begin work. They're careful to check work before a car leaves the shop and have a strong policy of backing up their work.

Peter and the crew at the Volks Cafe are wonderful. I called them to get a second opinion because I felt my other mechanic was trying to rip me off and they provided me with a skilled, thoughtful, through advice. Equally as important as servicing my car quickly and reliably, as a woman I felt like I was treated with respect. I highly recommend the Volks Cafe.

It kind funny actually, At one time I had 4 vw vans-it kinda addicting. Anyway these vans were nearing antique so parts were getting harder to find. I started looking online and found Volks Cafe. I purchased many psrts online from Peter over the last part of the 90's. In 2003 I went Santa Cruz for a job interview, afterwards as I was driving away I passed Volks Cafe-1 block from the interview. I almost wrecked pulling over to checkout the shop/store. I also ended up spending close to $600.00 worth of parts( I was doing a rebuild and had planned to order online-he even gave me the online discount. You see although I purshased from them online I didn't really recognize/noticed the location was Santa Cruz....Anyway I got the job and frequently visit V/C to discuss the occasional problems I have with my vdubs. btw I'm down to 2 vans, rudyb

They are now known as "Folks Cafe" -- the auto gorilla objected to their using the name "Volks" even though they had been in business for years. Peter is absolutely honest. I have been helping repair costs for a needy person who has an older VW. Even though this car is past its life cycle, Peter and the Folks Cafe mechanics have kept this car running always at reasonable cost.

I guess I am a biased customer, because Peter and the dudes at the F(V)olks Cafe are the only people that I trust to work on my cherished 2001 Volks Passat. I buy all of my parts from them when I decide to do the work myself, but when it's something that requires a lift or significant disassembly, I always go to them. In the past I would go to the dealer, but the price was always ridiculous and I would always have to take it back for follow up work. I've been going to the Cafe since 2002 and I have never been disappointed. The only downside is that they only work on Volkswagens (and maybe Audis -- not sure).
