When I was in college I had my first German car, a '90 VW Corrado G60. Awesome car, but infamous for its extremely challenging (and increasing) problems. It just so happens that Gary (owner/mechanic) races Corrados. He has probably taken apart and put back together dozens of Corrados over the years. At the time he had a '97 GTI VR6, and later went into the MkIV R32... so the guy LOVES his VWs, just like ME! It is VERY rare to find someone who shares my passion, and he always took it upon himself to work on my car as a personal project. The prices were higher than others in town, but only by about $10/hour. Definitely worth the extra money to get the PROFESSIONAL, experienced, personal attention that he always gave me. And he was more than a mechanic; he would take a personal interest in me--he'd ask how school was going, he'd let me wander about the shop (not in the tech area, but in his "race" shop where he mods his Corrados and Sciroccos). When we eventually mutually agreed that it was time to stop fixing the Corrado, he actually helped me find a suitable replacement: a great '88 Scirocco 16V! WOW! I absolutely recommend Gary for ANY TYPE OF EUROPEAN AUTOMOBILE! I've seen him work on Mercedes (incl AMG), BMW, Jaguar, Volvo, Audi, ... you name it. Go see GARY!

Had them do some work on my E36 m3 as well as my subaru. Had them roll the fenders on my M and install 04 Sti Brakes on my 01 Impreza. The brake job required a large amount of custom work, which they handled very well. Very competent workers who were always willing to show you what they had been working on and why. Gary, who owns/runs the shop earned a place in my eye when he helped a friend of mine who had paid for work at another mechanic in town, and Gary personally helped my friend out when another local mechanic was trying to screw him over. Overall one of my favorite shop to go to and I recommend them for anyone who need their import car taken car of. It is the one place that in Santa Barbara that I can take my car and feel that I am never being ripped off. An added bonus is that they have the best jerkey place in Santa Barbara across the street at wholesale prices.
