A couple of years ago, I was driving highway 101 from Los Angeles to the Oakland area on christmas eve for a family reunion. Somewhere between Ventura and Carpenteria, in heavy rain, my ALT light came on. I detoured through Santa Barbara in search of a mechanic that was open on christmas eve, to no avail. I spotted a Mobil station just off the highway at the Las Positas exit, and in desparate hope the mechanic would be on duty on christmans eve in a rainstorm. Not only was he on duty, he had a replacement alternator within ten minutes, and had me back on the road in ten more. Outstanding service. Fast forward two years. In going through some recipts, I discovered the previous alternator had a lifetime warranty. When I couldn't locate the recipt for the replacement from Las Positas, I traced them down on the web and got their phone number, gave them a call. They said they'd have to do some digging, but a few days later called back - found it, and e-mailed a scan of it. They bailed me out twice,
