Very good customer service. After the warranty period I stopped going to the VW dealership and started going to Auto Tech instead. I have never looked back.

Pros: They have fixed nearly every car problem of mine right the first time. The one time that they added regular oil instead of synthetic oil (per the work order), the owner treated me to a free oil change the next time I needed it -- with synthetic oil. Other than that, my repairs stay fixed, and don't cause other problems. They explain what needs to be fixed and why, and what might happen if I don't repair a thing at that time. Not being a mechanic, however, they could tell me that the queezak was broken, and it would sound legitimate to me. But, I've found, they don't over-repair. There have been several occasions where either I've asked about a potential repair or they've discussed a possible repair, only to conclude that the problem wasn't bad enough at the time to warrant the repair. They told me to check in with them at a specific mileage to re-examine the issue. The best recommendation about their integrity came from one of their new mechanics. He quit a repair shop 35 miles to the South, specifically because that shop owner cheated customers, and he wanted to work at an honest shop. Cons: They shuttle you to work (within 5 miles), but you have get your own ride back to the shop. Their labor rate is high (102/hr as of 3/23/05).
