The owner, George Chavez, WAS at Crow Canyon Exxon, BUT for a very long time, changed the name to Ace Auto Repair and Tire Center. He is now across from Crow Canyon Cinema at the north east corner of Norris Canyon Rd. and San Ramon Valley Blvd. George is honest and really cares about his customers' problems. The rates are very competitive. Everyone I have referred to Ace Auto has thanked me. Ace Auto has a van that takes customers back and forth to work and home. They have rest rooms that are actually clean. These are very good guys.

I've been going to Ace for years. I wrote about these folks on this web site years ago when they were smaller and called Crow Canyon Auto Repair. They try very hard to be good to their customers-they pick up and drop off customers-they keep customers informed as their cars are being worked on-they really stand behind their work-and they are honest. Their prices seem to me to be very competitive. I often recommend Ace, and most if not all of those to whom I've recommended them still use them. There are several good people working there, but the soul of the shop is George the owner. When I needed a new mechanic, I went to several local auto parts stores and asked about who they recommended. Now, after years and years of having my several cars maintained there, I know why George was the most often recommended by the counter men in the parts stores. This place is the real deal.

A long time ago this was a small shop called Crow Canyon Exxon. It moved a long time age. The shop is now much bigger and is now called Ace Auto Repair and Tire Center. Ace Auto is one long block south of its old location; it's at 2562 San Ramon Valley Blvd in San Ramon on the north-east corner of San Ramon Valley Blvd. and Norris Canyon Road. The shop is larger, but the service is still great and they really care about their customers and stand behind their work. The prices are fair and they try to save money for customers by telling customers if work doesn't have to be done.

When I take in my 1996 Camry they understand that I do not want to pay more than the car's low Blue Book for one day of repairs, and they help me prioritize. Dealers seem unable to do that. Twice I have asked for really low cost tires for cars which I intended to trade or donate within a year or two. Each time they sold me four no-name tires at a good price, and each time I got about twice the promised mileage. This was great because I kept each car much longer than previously planned. The those tires provided a better ride than high-end radials. My wife feels that she is treated very well there, absolutely equal to a male customer. We have a Camry, two 4Runners and a Sequoia of various ages which are serviced there. They seem to know Toyotas well.

This is a big shop which got that way by being a small shop that treated their customers well. I started with them because of a recommendation of a friend when they had only four lifts in a gas station ... that was more than ten years ago. I recommend them to friends and the friends always thank me later. They work on all kinds of cars and trucks ... I even saw them working on a street cleaner once. They are open Monday through Friday, have a shuttle, and are careful to not recommend work that is not needed. They are located across from Crow Canyon Cinema. Good people.
