I would highly recommend A+ to anyone looking for a great group of mechanics who really know their stuff. After a large rock fell off a truck and rolled under my car on the freeway, I had to have most of my exhaust system rebuilt. The dealer quoted me between $1500-2000. A+ was able to do it for under $1000 by doing a lot of extra legwork to find rebuilt parts. I know they spent a great deal of time calling around to find the best deals but they only charged me for parts and labor. They also ran a free test on my electrical system after I had to have an emergency batter replacement at another shop. I can't say enough good things about them!

I live up near Napa and often come down to San Carlos to visit my daughter. I came across A+ Japanese Auto Repair because my daughter brings her car there. I have had a few routine services done there and I thought that they did a great job. I wanted to recommend them to anyone out there that is looking for a honest shop and very good service.

As a measure of how much I trust these guys, I drive a 94 Toyota Camry with 184,000 miles on the clock. They've done a fair bit of work on it in the past couple of years, and it's running nicely. There have been a couple of repairs that have needed re- repairing, but mechanics are, at best, only human. When they've missed something on the first inspection, or installed a faulty part, they've fixed it for free without any need for haggling or threats of lawsuits - they've even paid for my rental car and, in one instance, towing. They do a good job of explaining and showing what the problem is and above all they are honest - I've never suspected them of recommending work that didn't need doing. Little-known fact: Eric is a great salsa dancer.

These guys are great! I had them peform the 60K (major) service for my 2001 Mazda Protege and they were efficient and fair. A week later my check engine light came on and when they scanned the car they said there was a large evap leak somewhere. We tried the obvious, changed out the gas cap, but it turned out, after a lot of troubleshooting, to be a loose hose. They spent hours tracking down the problem and didn't charge me a cent. They even agreed to pay for the gas cap they suggested I buy from Mazda. Great service, fair prices, honest people. What more could you ask for!

I have a 93 Honda Accord Wagon with 134,000 miles, great car but like all cars they need service. I live in San Carlos and found the shop in the yellow pages aprx, 3 years ago and I am really glad that I did. It is a family owned shop, always see the same friendly faces and they know me and my daughter by name now. They do anything that we need to our cars, we even get our tires done there. Great shop to recc to anyone!
