We were on vacation in San Francisco, about to head home for southern California on Dec 29, when the Windstar minivan sprung a coolant leak, a pinhole leak in a dealer-only y-shaped metal tube. We were staying at a nearby hotel, and walked into Yamato Auto Repair. Darryl charged $30 for pressure test, identified the problem, notified us immediately, and ordered the part for delivery the next day. We elected to go buy the part ourselves to speed things up, and Darryl accomodated that. The part we bought turned out to be the wrong part (and it's the same part Darryl had ordered - Ford's database was wrong.) Darryl had his welder put a bead on the part, he re- installed the repaired old part, and we were on our way around noon on Dec 31. The shop was busy with other customers, too, despite it being a holiday eve. Total price was quite reasonable, considering the time and effort. Location is not fancy, but it's a block off Van Ness Blvd (US 101), two blocks from a cable car station, and there are a number of small eateries and coffee shops nearby.

Have had reliable servicing done here for last 2-3 years for my high mileage Acura Legend, always cost effective, and done on time. Reliable communication from Daryll, as well.
