John Kennedy is the one truly honest mechanic I have found. He treats the customer as he would like to be treated, giving you your options on a repair, the pros and cons for each method or part ( this would be the cheapest, this would be most expensive, this is what I would do because it is the best way). He even has helped me to self diagnose my car to save me an emergency trip in to see him-- the problem turned out not to be urgent, so I was able to schedule an appointment for another day. Any other mechanic would probably have insisted I rush in and pay for them to diagnose the same problem. I have been so pleased with John that When I get a new car it HAS to be a Honda, otherwise I would have to find a new Mechanic

I've taken both my old Honda and my current Toyota to John. He's always willing to find the most economical way to fix any problem, and fastidiously keeps track of my maintenance history. He's honest about what does and does not need to be fixed, about how long it will take, and how much it will cost. He has referred me to other good shops to take care of things that he does not (e.g. glass). John is also a nice guy to chat with while waiting for the repairs to be done.

Brought my '95 Integra to John based on this forum's recommendation. I was pleased by his straightforwardness and attention to detail. When my side mirror was shattered and I had difficulty pressing the new one into place, I drove up and he handled it for me; no charge.

After some bad dealership experiences, I found John nearly 20 years ago. He's taken excellent care of two Hondas for me, including one that I drove for over 16 years. He's honest and really cares about how your car runs. As a single mom, I've always appreciated getting his straightforward opinion about what work is needed now versus what can wait a while, and have never felt talked down to. I've recommended him to several friends, who have all been as happy as I've been.

I found John and his shop after a horrible experience with a car dealer (I know, I know, so naive), and chose him based on the comments on this website. John and his mechanics do good work, and I always found him to be honest and more than fair (taking on additional costs when others screwed up--such as his parts suppliers--so I wasn't adversely affected). He has high standards and always seeks quality (his goal is that your car runs forever and never leaves you stranded), but he also understands budget constraints. Moreover, he's also fun to chat with while you wait. I recommend him wholeheartedly.

John is a great guy who gives it to you straight. He was patient when I couldn't find my wheel key (which the dealership lost) and the price was affordable. He has earned a lifelong customer.

This was a great find - thank you Car Talk. John Kennedy was honest, straight- forward, and friendly. My side view mirror was knocked off and he replaced it for half what the dealer was quoting me for. Plus his guys fixed it while we talked (less than 10 minutes.) I will be bringing my car back for every other service need.
