I rarely take either my alfa or jag in, (as i do most work myself) but when i need an expert the guy actually has a PHD in mechanical engineering (much like tom and ray) from oxford university in UK of all things...I've seen ferarris, alfas, MGs, lambos, you name it repaired there with no complaints, as well as run of the mill chevys fords etc. I've also seen a customer drive up with a problem that "ford coudlnt find" he lsitened to the enigne for about 1 minute diagnosed it repaired it in about 5 minutes...and sent her on her way....NO CHARGE.... i almost fell down. Ive also seen him repair a transmission in 2 hours (drop old one out slide a new one in) and charged the guy for just the two hours and the new tranny... anyway he is very reasonable his prices are of course dependant on your attitude...a little more expensive than some mechanics but ive never ever seen someone come back to get anything repaired the second time. only complaint i woudl say is location is kind of out of the way but then some people drive 50 and 60 miels to get there...and his parking lot is kind of small...and usually full of cars--waiting to be retrieved by their owners.

Ahmad has repaired many cars for us (some were really bad cars, too). He has always done a first class job at what even a cheepskate like me has to agree is a fair price. He has also sold us a few of those cars (some of the better ones we've owned); also at a fair price. He is skilled at servicing all types of cars and repairing all types of automotive failures. A good shop in an out-of-the-way location.

after talking to him over the phone, he sounded quite thorough. knew what he was talking about. he warranties for 12 months (head gasket). said that he replaced with genuine parts and replaces and checks other parts for wear. expensive, but he said that once it is done, the only other reason for coming back is for an oil change!

Ahmad Nawabi, the proprietor of Hexagon Automotive in Montrose (Glendale), CA is simply the best mechanic that I have ever encountered. He has serviced my Jag XJ6 VandenPlas for the last 17 years, starting with a superb engine rebuild after a blown head gasket that was 50% of the cost that the selling dealer quoted me. Most recently, he has worked on my 2004 BMW325ci, as well as my wife's Jeep Liberty and my daughter's Honda Civic. He has been unfailingly honest, dependable, and accurate in his diagnoses of problems and subsequent repairs, often (as mentioned by other customers on this site) at NO COST. Incredible, in the true sense of the word. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He was trained as a mechanical engineer and brings a good engineer's penchant for both precision and accuracy to every problem--his forensic skills are astonishing! As indicated above, he can work on any vehicle, from pickups to Porsches...literally. One day I saw a local collector's one-of-a-kind factory prototype antique Ferrari. Obviously parts were an issue--they couldn't be bought, so Ahmad drew up blueprints and had them fabricated to his specs. Again, not the run-of-the-mill mechanic. He is exceedingly reasonable. Also, I don't think he's out of the way at all! Within a couple of minutes drive from the I-210 Freeway, about half way between Pasadena and Sunland, CA--piece of cake. By the way, he is unsurpassed in general, but especially with Jaguars and BMWs.
