Highly recommended. Honest, knowledgeable and competent. They take the time to properly diagnose a problem and fix it right the first time. General Manager Patrick is very professional and takes the time to fully explain any work that needs to be done. It's nice to find a mechanic you can trust. They warranty their work. They also provide a pre-purchase inspection service if you need a used car checked out. Website: http://www.adamsimport.net

Andy is a German-American with an international crew. He was trained as a pro-mechanic in Germany and he built his business from the ground up. He is very honest and reasonable. He treats you with respect, and explains everything in common language, and he bills you according to standardized rates. He has plenty of business, but never turns away a customer. His biggest problem is that he can't expand his business. The cost of property and mechanics facilities, licencing, employees, insurance, zoning etc. in San Diego keep him from expanding. He has told me he doesn't want to split his day between two distant shops, or worse work 3 days here, and 3 days there. I only hope more competent, honest mechanics like Andy are alowed to do business in the U.S. I've taken both my Nissan Hard Body and Chevy Cavlier to him with excellent results. I hope he never stops working on my cars.

I got a quote for front and rear brakes (pads and rotors) from a VW dealership, even though I only needed new rear brakes. Then I went to Adams Import Car Specialist. The owner went online to check for parts availability, and in about 5 minutes he gave me a very attractive quote for parts and labor. I scheduled the service for 8 am a couple days later -- I was in at 8 and out by 9:30. I'm getting ready for new front brakes, and will be having Adams Import do the work for me.

Brought in a 2003 Subaru Outback for Cylinder Head Gasket replacement (due to external coolant leak). They quoted a reasonable price and kept to it. They came recommended by Smitty's (down the street on Adams) so I felt confident to trust them. So far so good!
