The Check Engine light (MIL) was coming on and off intermittantly on my 2003 Hyundai Sonata GLS. Unfortunately, my regular mechanic did not have the software to perform a diagnostic. He referred me to Japanese Service Center. Steve performed diagnosis and gave me the trouble code at no cost. I was prepared to pay for labor and for any additional work that may need to be performed. Here is the great part, he then said my car is still under warranty and that I should take it to a dealer to get it serviced. I don't know too much about cars. I just found out that Autozone can perform a diagnostic for free. I was unaware that my warranty would even cover this type of work. Other shops quoted me more than $120 just to even look at it. I have no doubt they would not have informed me about the warranty. Great shop, honest, clean and overall good vibe.

This auto shop is close to downtown Sacramento and have a high volume operation. Although honest and competent, I believe they are as expensive as having the work done at the dealer's shop. My friend has used this shop for a very long time and has not made any complaints.

I just arrived in Sacramento after a 3,300 cross country trip. The tire shop I went to told me I needed brakes real bad and wanted to do it right then to the tune of $200. Since my two teenagers were taking the car on to Oregon in two days, I figured I better get the brakes done. I came to this website to get your recommendation of honest shops that work on Hondas. Took it in to Japanese Service Center and left it for them to do the work. Steve, the owner, asked me to come in to talk. Well, turns out I didn't really need brakes immediately. He said I have a good 10,000 miles left. He didn't charge me a cent! And he's made a new customer for life! I thank you for this website- helped me avoid unnecessary work and find a good mechanic.
