I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM AND HE CAME IN ON SUNDAYS SO I COULD PICK MY CAR UP. I HAVE NEVER HAD A BETTER ONE!

I found the shop quickly, down a sidelane with several other shops. The owner/mechanic was very friendly, easy- going, knowledgeable and kind (I watched him with some other customers - and the local dog, Lucy). He races an old, modified 'Vette, and has been in business for a good long time. I felt really comfortable with him. I highly recommend him for anyone needing to get away from the high- pressure and higher priced alternatives. On the downside, if it is anything you can't wait around for, such as an oil change or filter change, for example, don't look for an elaborate waiting room. Bring a book, or get a ride home, if it is a multi-day job.

The belts on my 91 Jetta had been squealing for about two months and the moment we decided to take it in to a mechanic the car stalled on us. It turned out that the coupling where the radiator fluid goes into the engine had cracked and sprayed the battery into electr-oblivion. So we bought a battery and that fixed the problem. But,the car was leaking fluid really badly. I found Top Performance mentioned in the MechanXfiles. We managed to start the car again and drove to Top Performance. Paul replaced the cracked coupling, gave the car a tune-up (which we had requested) and recharged the battery. He tightened the belts for free. We had also mentioned that we had an intermittent problem of stalling while the car was moving but could not replicate it for Paul. A few days later the car stalled again and we brought it back to Paul. The problem was the alternator which he replaced. We have not had any problems with the car for months since. We had been hesitant in taking the car to the mechanic in fear that we would be gouged but as it turned out Paul charged very reasonable rates and fixed the car really fast. Usually the same day. Next time I have a problem with the Jetta I wont hesitate to take it to Paul. -Jorge

Have been taking all my cars to Paul for years. He's a hard worker and very fair, just talks quietly. Great shop for repairs.

I only have fabulous things to say about Paul. He is extremely honest and his prices are more than reasonable. I have referred a number of friends and colleagues and they have all had good experiences with him.
