I tried this shop due to a friend's recommendation. First time, I had a hole in my exhaust system. D+K Auto Services recommended a repair shop in San Rafael (Johnny Franklin) that welded a collar on for only $10! Second time, I had a leak near the fan sensor of my radiator (1980 VW Rabbit) in the plastic (ugh) part of the unit. It was beyond repair. Dave of D+K worked on it himself (he has at least one other mechanic helper). I watched the entire repair. Appeared to be done competently, efficiently, and with humor (I had a nice chat with Dave while he worked). My friend, who recommended D+K, has been taking her car to Dave for years and years. She's been very happy with the results. She may leave a review, too. Watch for it (say late January 2000).

Although I hane known Dave and his other two mechinics for a while now. I can honestly say they try their best, and work on almost everything you need. If they don't do it then they will either recommend you to a good place or he will take it and have it fixed himself! He also has a part store right above him, he normally(unless it comes from a dealer)can get it right away.

Dave has been very helpful in getting our out-of-
commission Lexus back on the road on a number of
occasions. Also, when problems begin, Dave has been very
helpful in diagnosing and troubleshooting the car over the
phone (like Click and Clack), and has helped me with
advice on occasion to fix the car on my own, without
charging me (an increasingly rare trait among mechanics
these days). He is also a great "schmoozer" (like Click
and Clack)! They work very hard during the week, so I
understand why they take off on weekends. However, my only
regret is that most of our car problems seem to pop up on
the weekends, when they are closed.

Felt completely at ease with Dave upon 1st meeting. Great
humor too! Recommended to me by my neighbor, a long term
client.. Would not go anywhere else!
