I'm a female grad student with a 1989 Chevrolet Celebrity. Needless to say, I've been to most of the repair shops in this area. I finally found Freedom Automotive and have never gone anywhere else since, in part because in the two years since I initially got it repaired, nothing else has gone wrong. My car had serious issues, I went all over the place and finally resorted to taking it to the dealer, which cost me hundreds, and it was still acting up. The owner of Freedom Automotive took my car for a spin with me, listened as I explained the problem, took the time to wait for it to happen, and knew immediately what was wrong. I refer all my friends/coworkers/classmates and have never heard anything less than stellar feedback from them about their experience. As a female, I appreciated that I felt comfortable with the shop owner. He was able to explain what was wrong with my car in a way that I could understand, without being condescending. I felt at the time that what he charged was fair, and when I noticed later that he'd re-fastened my dangling bumper without charging me for it or even mentioning it...and now two years later without anything else going wrong on a car as old and crappy as mine...I think this guy must be half angel and half magician! Now THAT'S a good mechanic :)
