Before I purchased my 2004 Volvo XC70 a Volvo-owning friends (a female) introduced me to Mike, one of the owners of JK Volvo. He answered my questions about shopping for and purchasing a Volvo, and made several helpful suggestions. His shop can do all the scheduled factory maintenance, and keeps complete records of work done. If something is in warranty, he will diagnose, and send you to the Volvo dealer. (I had a power steering reservoir and hose problem which began with a strange noise. Mike knew what it was immediately, and sent me to the dealer) Before I started on a 3500 mile road trip, he checked everything for me at no charge. He also told me that while I was gone a service light would come on, but that I did not have to worry about it until I got back. He seems to have Volvo in his genes, as do the others who work for him. My daughter in law (who owns a Volvo sedan) says one of his mechanics knows the Zen of Volvo.

I think I've been going to J-K for fifteen years or so. I've had them do the work on two Volvo wagons that I've owned, and they've also kept my Mom's Volvo wagon running beautifully, and a former girlfriend of mine also went there until she switched makes. Mike and his dad, John, are really "old-school" -- they know everything there is to know about what they do (or will find out), they're as honest as the day is long, they're friendly, courteous, and are willing to share what they know and explain problems to their customers. I have no doubt that it is largely through their efforts that my '87 740 GLE wagon is now just three hundred miles shy of 300,000 miles. They'll also help you find a good used Volvo if necessary. You simply couldn't find a better place to take your Volvo for service. Robb Morgan
