The owner -- his name is not Gabriel -- is one of the most honest mechanics I have ever met. My wife could have been taken for hundreds and hundreds of dollars by a dishonest person, but at Gabriel's they fixed the problem for under $100. He even does "minor" stuff like plugging leaks in tires for free! A reputable, trustworthy, wonderful experience bringing our cars to him for repair and service.

I am a young female and am always hesitant to take my car to any repair shop (I've been told that my car needed imaginary parts fixed just about as much as real ones). When I took my car to Gabriel's Auto for a "my car is running kinda funny" tune-up and routine maintenance, they (in only a few hours) diagnosed the problem and gave me an itemized estimate of all of the parts and labor. They answered all of my questions and explained that the estimate didn't include one additional part that might need to be replaced (for the cost of the part only) if, when they took everything apart, it was bad. Within the best of their abilities (they had to replace an additional seal because it was half torn) they fixed my car for the estimated price. In general, I was treated honestly and fairly (how anyone would like their daughter to be treated). Their hourly rate is not the lowest in this area (it's about average), but they only charged for the cost of parts (unlike most places) and did complete some work for no additional hours. I will not hesitate to bring my car back to Gabriel's or to recommend this shop to any of my friends.

I just moved to CA and was at a loss for a mechanic. I put it off for a while until I really decided that a tune-up was necessary. A friend recommended Gabriels. I am fairly gullible when it comes to car repair--I have little knowledge of things mechanical. The guys at Gabriel's explained everything to me, though, without being condescending or curt. They pointed out repairs that might need to be made, but actually asked me to check with my old mechanic to see what the last work was before they spent time taking things apart. They were honest, efficient, and helpful--not a bad combination!

Actually (responding to an earlier comment), the owner's name is Gabriel! He is very honest and has trained his staff well. They are reliable and fair. I've been going to them for more than 5 years and have always had positive experiences.

I strongly agree with the other reviews. I came to CA from the east coast with a rusty old car. Mike has repaired major and minor problems and has always been honest and reasonably priced. When I have a small problem, like a loose bolt, he fixes it happily and quickly for free. When I have a big problem, Gabriel's is timely and always discloses reasons for the repair. I am also a younger female who could be taken for a ride easily by an underhanded mechanic. Everytime I have taken my car to Gabriel's I have felt that I was treated with courtesy and honesty. Thanks to Gabriel's and Mike, my '92 is still running like it's only '95. Can't say enough...

Based on all of the wonderful recommendations I read on the Car Talk website, I decided to take my 2001 Toyota Camry LE in to Gabriel's. I had a list of five things I wanted them to look at. Mike helped me right away. He looked at my list and looked at my car and explained to me that four of the five things on my list really did not need to be repaired. He explained to me (without being condescending) why I didn't need to worry about these four minor issues. Then he fixed the last problem (a burned out tail light) and charged me $2.00. That is right…TWO dollars! My mind is at ease and my wallet is not on fire. I highly recommend going to Gabriel's and asking for Mike.

These guys were fast and reasonably affordable. I would return here for car work.
