These guys RULE! They seriously are a gift to the world! So, I was moving from Los Angeles to Baton Rouge, Louisiana and not 100 miles into my trip, my car started overheating. Rather than risk the drive through the desert with 2 cats, I stopped and checked out this website for a mechanic. It was thursday night and I needed to get my car fixed the next day. I knew I was in a position where anyone could screw me over and there would be nothing I could do. But, I risked it. The next morning, I went at 7am and met Doug outside. I explained that I was towing a uhaul and wasn't sure if it was too much for my car or perhaps it was a mechanical problem. They were on a tight schedule, but still helped me! They spent a few hours making absolutely sure that it was the radiator before they decided it was. They evern unhitched the trailer and sent me off to see if the problem still occurred. It did, so they quickly replaced the radiator. Doug was very nice and made sure I understood exactly why he thought it was the radiator. He also made sure I understood that it was still possible that I would need to ditch the trailer. He even gave me some pointers as to how to save the car, and when I needed to turn on the vent, etc... I set off the next day, and my car was PERFECT! I could use the A/C the whole way there! I had no problems, and the temperature remained low the entire way to Louisiana! These guys are miracle workers and I could not possibly recommend them more!!! (plus doug is pretty dreamy. hehe)

The shop is a third generation shop, been around since the thirties, all in the same family from Grandpa to the current owner Charlie. I have been going to charlie for about 11 years now. he has made one or two house payments with my 6 cars that he has worked on. Like he says " I am not the cheapest or the most expansive, but right in the middle" He does the little things that make him really good. He only fixes what is broke and what you want. He will let you know that something will be in need of repair soon. In most all cases he fix something hear or there without charging you. After knowing him for a while, he will let pay in payments (without interest)if your short this week or next. The bottom line, I am a shadetree mechanic but sometings i will not do, but will take to Charlie, becasue i know it will get fix. The shop is clean, all parties go to various types of training to keep current. Old man Joe (Charlies dad) is very good on the old cars, pre electronics. Can rebuilt a mean carb. for you. Charlies restoring a 67 GTO, An I give him hell, I am doing a 72 Camaro. Anyway, I hope he makes you "X" list. Like said before, My family and I would not have been going to him for 12 years if he was not good.

Their address is 8880 8th St in Rancho Cucamonga. My experience with them began about four years ago when I worked for a private security company. They fixed our fleet of patrol vehicles and our employees often brought their personal vehicles to them for repair. Although I no longer work for the security company I still bring my vehicle there for repair. I always find them courteous and honest. I was particularly impressed by their willingness to take responsibility for an occasional botched job. They are always very busy and it sometimes takes them longer to complete repairs than estimated. Their prices are at the higher end of the scale, but they are excellent at diagnosing problems. If you have the time and money you won't go wrong with Bertino Atomotive.

I have been going to Bertino Automotive Service for a short time, but am impressed with their competence and honesty. Having experienced both good and bad mechanics, I can say with confidence that these guys are good.

Auto shop has very friendly and competent mechanics, and, while waiting, the business next store is a fantastic local restaurant; huge fresh portions of everything (5 egg omelets) and unbelievably inexpensive food...staff is a hoot!
