I brought in a 1990 Grand Marquis that had a grinding sound that would change pitch and tone when the transmission would shift. Thinking I needed a new transmission, I went to Murrieta Transmission and the owner , Harry came out and got behind the wheel and said let's go for a drive. We drove around a block maybe two and he heads back to the shop and parks the car. He really hasn't said anything good or bad about this grinding/ growling sound that is comming from the car. He turns off the car and turns to me and says "Your transmission is fine, you need a new fan clutch. " I about fell out the door. I couldn't believe what I just heard. No other salesman hype like I should service this or that. Since the shop specializes in just tranmissions he wouldn't even install a new fan clutch. I was just amazed. I had called numerous other shops specializing in transmissions and they wouldn't even look at it with out paying a diagnostic fee. Mr Smith wished me a nice day (No Charge) and even suggested that I go to a local parts house and buy the part and install it myself if I was capable. I was so impressed with his professionalism that I made an appointment for the following week to have the vehicle serviced and was very pleased with the service. I also recommended his shop to several co-workers and they also were very impressed with his professionalism, fair prices and just a real nice guy attitude he has and expects his shop employees to have. You do have to have an appointment to have your car serviced. It seems that the word is getting out about Murrieta Transmission......

The mechanic was up front about the cost and took the time to test drive the car and explain exactly what he was going to do. Money well spent.
