Excellent shop - specializes in Subarus but works on all makes and models. Best rates I've found anywhere.

I've had them work mainly on my '95 Subaru Legacy for the last 2 years, more recently on my son's '90 Acura Integra and my wife's '97 Camrey, since I decided to have them do all my car repair work. All the work has been most competent and fairly priced. They definitely stand behind what they do and only repair or recommend repairs for what needs to be done. The best relationship I've ever had with a car repair shop, dealer or private. There are shops closer to my home but I'll get the work done at Raffi Motors because I totally trust them.

I visited Raffi motors based on opinions I read here. I'm glad I found them -- they are very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I called Thursday afternoon and was told to bring the car in the next morning. Initially, they thought the work would take a few hours, so I rented a car for the day. To my surprise, I had hadly driven the rental out of the lot before they called to say my car was ready! In addition, the mechanic was no- nonsense about the work to be done, and explained other concerns I had with an eye to saving me money. Imagine! The clincher for me was the mechanic's response when I told him how many hours (eight) a shop in New York had quoted me to replace a sensor. He indignantly replied, "What a rip-off! I can do it in two." Well, to make a long story longer, I have found my mechanic in South Bay.

I found this shop through the Car Talk web page, and it is wonderful that I did! Chris does things how I like them to be done: competent diagnosis and repairs, rides to and from nearby work locations, reasonable prices, *and* he is a nice guy! Much, much, much better that other area shops. My wife and I both use him for repairs of our '95 Taurus and '95 Cutlass, and we both love him.

Chris has been the mechanic for both of my subarus' and that is over 20 years. He is reliable, trustworthy, no- nonsense, and very honest. If your car does not need something he will tell you, and he is very affordable, always looking for ways to save you money. He now works on most cars, and is definately the best deal around.

I only have visited them once (after getting their referral from Car Talk website) and it was such a pleasantly shocking experience that now I am referring people to them. I called them at 4 pm and told them that my car needs new brakes and asked them if they can do it the same day. Despite the fact that they close at 5:00, owner Chris asked me to come in. They went through all the four wheels and told me that I don't need brake pads and everything looks good. When asked about charges after an hour, he said there wasn't anything wrong and he didn't fix anything so no charge. I asked him that the guy worked on my car for an hour and he said that as a business he (owner) won't charge me anything, if I want to give something to the person who worked then it's up to me-
